We classified this failure as an environment issue rather than a code change because the PR only bumps verdaccio (a local registry tool) and contains no changes to the OIDC/PAR authentication logic under test. The test timed out waiting for a redirect from the external OIDC server (openam-sdks.forgeblocks.com), which is outside this repository's control. We recommend re-running the pipeline once the external service is responsive.
Self-Healing CI
An empty commit was applied to the branch to trigger a new CI pipeline execution to resolve the environment issue.
The PR solely updates the verdaccio package from 6.5.2 to 6.9.2 — a private npm registry tool used for local development/testing infrastructure. It has no connection to the OIDC/OAuth2 authentication logic exercised by the failing test.
The failing test (src/par.spec.ts) tests a PAR (Pushed Authorization Request) flow against an external OIDC server at openam-sdks.forgeblocks.com. The test navigated successfully to the external authorize endpoint, meaning the PAR request itself worked — but the subsequent redirect back to localhost:8443/par/** never arrived within the 30-second timeout.
This redirect is entirely controlled by the external OIDC service, not by any code in this repository. No lines in the PR diff could cause or prevent that redirect from happening.
Supporting evidence:
- Flakiness rate is 0%, ruling out a known intermittent test.
- No similar failures were found on other branches, ruling out a pre-existing infrastructure misconfiguration.
- The
touched_projects: ["*"]flag is a side-effect of the lockfile change from the dependency bump, not a logical code change to the oidc-suites project.
