Classification: Environment state

We looked at the mcp:vitest failure, which is three tests in mcps/@o3r/mcp/src/index.spec.ts timing out at 30000ms. Our PR only bumps Jest packages, and the mcp project runs on Vitest and isn't touched, so we don't see a code change that explains it. We aren't proposing a fix.

No code changes are applicable.

The AI model provider was experiencing issues when this fix was generated.

This failure was not classified as a code_change, for these reasons.

What failed

  • The failing task is mcp:vitest.
  • All three tests in src/index.spec.ts failed with "Test timed out in 30000ms".
  • Each test calls setUpClientAndServer, and one then calls create_monorepo_with_app, which is slow work.
  • The failures are timeouts. There are no assertion, import or type errors that point to specific code.

Why the PR doesn't explain it

  • The PR only updates Jest packages (jest, @jest/, jest-environment-) to ~30.5.0.
  • The mcp project runs on Vitest 4.1.11, so those packages aren't used by the failing task.
  • touched_projects is empty, so the PR changes no project, including mcp.
  • No error message references any changed code.

Other evidence

  • The flakiness rate for mcp:vitest is 0%, so the failure can't be classified as flaky_task.
  • The similar-task-failure-detector subagent found no matching failure on branch 4442. That is consistent with this classification but is not what it rests on.

Conclusion

  • A timeout failure in a project the PR doesn't touch looks like a slow or constrained CI environment, not a code defect.
  • Raising the timeout or editing the tests would be speculative and would hide the issue.
  • No files were changed.
